As of today, January 19, 2018, the two overarching issues of the day / next week will be:

    1. Will core Democrats shut down the Federal Government?

    2. How stupid do core Democrats think the American people are when they and the unprincipled, pathetic Democrat Media sell this as the Republicans' fault? Actually, that is an issue with me, core Democrats inestimable desire to keep Americans stupid.

    The continuing resolution to continue funding the government has already passed in the House 230 - 197. If Democrats in the U.S. Senate can form a successful filibuster, by enforcing cloiture (it will take 41 Democrat senators to do so), a vote to pass the continuing resolution will not occur, ergo, the Democrats, at least 41 one of them, have shut down the Federal Government.

    It is that simple folks.

    Now watch to see how core Democrats, and the unprincipled, pathetic Democrat Media advocate to sell to stupid Americans that it is /was the Republicans' fault.

    Update - afternoon of the 19th - Using much of these words on another board, I encountered another alternative opinion, although, I'm not sure if this Democrat understood the way the separate branches of government work, especially the one branch discussed by me - congress. That Democrat is important to show because, while the opinion suggest passion, it does not exhibit a level of deep knowledge of the governing of our Republic, and, from this basis of knowledge level, there is a large suggestion as to why some Americans vote as they do.

    COME ON, STAN, Surely you do not think the Republicans or 'Publicans as I call them , are without fault... remember , this is not a one sided nightmare we are in... both parties are at fault and we can't keep upholding Trump just because he pretends to care about those of us who are among the minority in living standards,,, Not everyone who finds themselves in dire situations now , have placed themselves there by not managing their affairs right..WHO, in their right mind would taunt a leader of another country about who has the ''biggest working button''.. He is acting like an uncouth jerk and certainly his Presidential decorum is laughable if it was not so pathetic.. - anti-Trump Democrat

    I end with my countered reply of keeping it simple, which is usually the best way understand complex issues - governing the American people:

    Stan: You can have all the high nopes want, but math is math. Senate rules are senate rules. That is the simple truth of it.

    That is the way ming works, and, I will add, that is the way we should all strive to think. Reduce problems down to its simplest terms, and then act in a logical manner.

    If the senate is allowed to take a vote, and the continuing resolution measure does not pass, then I am wrong.

    That is the crux where the math ultimately finds resolution.
